"Orchards?" Kippa perked up at that, curious. "What kinda trees, Miss? Mama said that in the forests sometimes there's trees so old that they were there before everything, back when the Old Ones weren't just ghosts."
The question had the girl stopping short, peering at the sign. And frowning in an almost sulky way when she realized that she didn't recognize the language there. Not that her mother had much spare time to teach her to read but she'd ensured that she could at least know the letters, suss out important words.
"I know my letters... but I don't know those ones. What's it say?"
