[Being cut isn't only a nuisance... it can be fatal in the wrong circumstances. He leans back when the kiss breaks, then nods, reaching to carefully undo the clasps and straps and ease her arm off.
Always careful with the arm. It was a beautiful piece of machinery, put together by Furiosa with whatever they could get her.
He holds the arm as he removes it, waiting for her to say where it should go.]
[Truly, it would be a sad thing to trade paint for the first time only for him to die of infection afterwards thanks to a cut from her metal talons. She relaxes a little, leaning back to give him access to the clasps, and then her breath catches, because she's never had anyone else deal with her prosthesis before, and it feels...far more intimate than she ever expected.
She feels a little surge of heat in her belly, which only builds as she sees how he's waiting for her say-so to go on. She smiles, slow and sweet.] You can set it on the ground. It's not that dusty in here.
[The garage floor is pretty hard-packed. It won't get grit in the joints. Once the prosthesis is set aside, she moves in again, arms around his neck, and this time she goes for his collarbones, nuzzling and breathing hot against where his scarification starts.]
You think these work? [She asks.] To keep you healthy, I mean? [Some war boys get scarification just for the look. Others use it as a totem against the lumps and night fevers. She's never asked Ace what his thoughts are on the matter before, but she very much wants him to stay healthy.]
[It's not just a machine, which is sacred enough, it's her machine. The Boss' arm. How could he treat it with anything less than total respect he has for his Imperator?
He sets it aside carefully, out of the way of any tussling that might happen. She slides in close as he puts it down and he wraps one arm around her waist again, her ribs feeling almost bare without her metal arm bracing wrapped there anymore.
He leans back on his other hand, taking a deep, slow breath through his nose.]
No. Might make you tough, surviving them. Doesn't keep the sickness at bay.
[All of her crew seems to respect, even revere her, in a way she doesn't always know how to accept. Maybe that's part of why she's been so fiercely devoted to their protection. People, especially men, have taken a great deal from her. These men give to her.
Ace's reverence is a cut above the other crew, though. It's a part of him, same as his pale eyes and the black stain on his hands, and when he shows it, it's because he gives a damn about the people he's using it for, whether he's Witnessing a dying war boy or handling her arm. She sighs against his skin and rubs her cheek against his sternum. The fuzz of her hair might tickle his skin.]
That's one true thing we know, at least. Sickness is worse than war. [Her right hand slides to his waist in an unhurried caress.] But you're still here. I'm glad.
[Ace has lived long enough to realise there is no glory in going out Chrome unless your death gives your Crew the best possible outcome. Going out Chrome just to go out Chrome... was rust. A warboy's life was not his to just throw away. It belonged to his Imperator. To the Immortan.
Maybe those should be the other way around in his head. He doesn't worry about it.]
Can't go leaving you. We finally got this thing working smooth. Chrome.
[He doesn't mean this specifically, her on his lap and heavy and sweet as aqua-cola.
He gives a small huff of laughter as her hair tickles over his skin.]
[Furiosa appreciates the sentiment, but she might beg to differ about some of that. She wouldn't claim any of her crew's lives as hers, for all that she refers to them as 'her boys' on a regular basis. There's a fine line between claiming a person as intimate friend or family and claiming them as a possession.
It may be a line she treads now and again, where her favorites are concerned, though. If feeling he belongs to her will keep Ace alive and beside her, she won't argue.
Immortan can't have him, though.]
Mmm. Couldn't do it without you. [She agrees, purring against his ribcage. That's quite possibly true. She's determined enough to carve herself a path to what she wants no matter what, but it wouldn't work the way it does without his calming influence on the boys.
She glances up at the laugh, eyes twinkling, and straightens again, going in for a few light kisses on his jaw, while tugging her own shirt loose from the corset.] You did so good with the arm, you want to help me with the rest?
((ooc: Just as an aside, I'm happy to fade to black if you like shipping but aren't comfortable with smut. But I'm also delighted to play smut, too.))
[Ace knows all Warboys are owned by multiple tiers of people.
And that's okay. Because she's probably the top tier of his listing.
His hand moves over her back, her shoulder, her head again to feel that soft fuzz of hair and then blinks down at her and starts to grin slowly.] Yeah? Sounds shine, boss.
[He sits up a bit more, so he can stop leaning on his hand and instead start working on her buckles, carefully undoing them.
((ooc: it's been a while since I did this, but I'm willing to try?))]
